Monday and Tuesday Objective:  I can complete my 3rd and final project.

Monday Warm Up:  Correct the following sentences

I had went to the mall this weekend

She loves going to the mall cause she loves shopping

Whole Group:  Students will receive graded work and review common mistakes (run on sentences, use of the word “had,” capitals/lack of capitals).

Teacher Group: Students will see a sample of the third project and begin their draft.

Tuesday Warm Up:  Write a complete sentence about the book you are currently reading.

Wednesday:   Students will complete finished products in the computer lab.

Wednesday Warm Up:  Write a complete sentence about the project you have liked best.

Thursday and Friday Objective:  Students will share final products.  Students will move back to rotations.

Project Objectives:

• Students will utilize a non fiction text to identify key details on an African American
• Students will write a one paragraph summary based on a non fiction text they read
• Students will utilize Read 180 strategies (sequence and order, problem/solution, compare/contrast) to better comprehend the life an accomplishments of their assigned African American figure
• Students will make text to self connections with the assigned individual

Monday Warm Up: Use the words, cause and because in complete sentences.
Tuesday Warm Up: What is one fact that you have learned about the person you are researching.
Wednesday Warm Up: What has been the best part of doing these projects.
Thursday Warm Up: Write a compete sentence describing how you worked to improve as a student this week.

Monday Whole Group: Students will preview the different people that they are going to learn about.

Monday and Tuesday Teacher Group: Students will read articles about the person they chose to research. Students will identify important details about their person.
